Giant in Color

I have been inspired by the great illustrators at my studio to add color to my
sketches. Here is my first attempt.

Hopi Maiden

I found this image of a Hopi Nation maiden from 1901.
Looks like the concept guys from Star Wars were inspired
by the original people.

Naruto

Cartoon Network's animation block, "Action Flicks"
aired a great film this friday, "NARUTO: Legend of the Stone of Gelel".
I was surprised by the action sequences. The animation
and choreography was very impressive. I can't wait to see the
other Naruto OVA's.

Sketch of the Day: Batman

Anime Reference Books: Ex Machina

The next chapter in the Apple Seed Saga: "Ex Machina",
directed by legend John Woo is visually stunning.
The book, "The Analysis of Ex Machina" is equally stunning.
This concept book is filled with awesome illustrations that
cover character design, mech design, architecture and futuristic
vehicles. Great book.

Anime Reference Books: Final Fantasy VII

This is a great book filled with character designs, concept art
and movie stills. Advent Children was a great movie. Square Enix
continues to push the boundaries in the world of 3D animation.

Anime Reference Books: Tekkonkinkreet

Studio 4C has done it again. Last year they produced one of my
favorite anime features, "Tekkonkinkreet". The movie was
stylistically innovative and the story was very intriguing in that
crazy, other world, japanese anime way. Now Studio 4C has released
two art books filled with production drawings and sketches. One book
is titled: "Black Side" and the other "White Side". The drawings in
these books are amazing. 4C's attention to detail is unsurpassed.

Anime Reference Books: Izumo Jyuki

If you love mech's, this is the book for you. I discovered
Izumo Jyuki's work in a Gundam Side Story. He redesigned the
Gundam mech's in a very utilitarian way that made the series
more believable. Izumo also designed the mech's for Xbox's
"Steel Battalion. Pick it up!
